Could be a dumb question...

...I'm new to my Tbird and I have a question.

The lights, of course there is the switch for low beams and high beams. However, next to it is a light for what I would guess would be some additional lights.

When I flip the switch, nothing happens.

What's supposed to comeo on? What's wrong?

That switch is for Triumph's aux passin lamps that you buy from Triumph for an unholy amount of money.Or you could install some after market lamps as I did on my scooter. There is an extra plug in the head light assembly which is what that switch powers and is what you would tie the wiring for the lights into.Dave!!!

I just wired up a set of black powdercoat Motolights to my Tbird tonight. Awesome!

I'll be taking some pics and posting in a separate thread in the next day or two so that anyone else who is interested can install them easily on their Tbird.

Suffice to say... i wired up my motolights directly to the wiring in the headlight - nothing else. The auxiliary switch on the left side turns them on and off perfectly.

What if there were no hypothetical questions?

I'm planning to wire a garage door opener to the aux light switch. I keep one in my jacket pocket, but having the switch on the bar would be better than fumbling to press the switch through the leather.

I'd like to know how to wire in a garage door opener with the aux light switch. That would be a cool setup. Please let us know how that goes, how to do it and if you're pleased with the results.

Done! It was easier than I thought - wired them right up the the Aux light switch.

That is, if you weren't talking about how to wire up a garage door opener :P I have absolutely no idea how to convert one of them to 12 volts!

What if there were no hypothetical questions?
