Maybe you set the "bar" too high?
Bet someone out there has stayed at a Holiday Inn Express and can rattle a spray can!
And are we talking touch up, striping, complete color change or oil on canvas landscapes?
Me, I flunked Crayola 101 in kindergarden... so I'm no help.
Just trying to help you out here by "bumping" the subject.

Thanks,

I bought the paint today, and I had a chance to pick the brain of a pretty experienced auto painter...

What I decided on was a base coat, mid coat, and clear.

The color or base coat is a turquoise ( more to the green side ) with a silver pearl.... and a clear coat over all.

The overall theme of the bike has a western look. I've got a brown leather Corbin seat and my saddle bags are also a brown oiled leather.

before I can paint, it was recommended that the tank and fenders be media blasted to remove the uneven layering of the black stripe.
I found a local place that does it with an overnight turn around for $100. Once that is done I'll have to prime with an acid etching primer and wet sand to 800. Then paint.

Now, to build a paint booth... I've got a bunch of 12g 1" square tubing. with a little tack welding I'll frame up a 8'x8'x7' tall. It will be covered with plastic sheeting. I'll use 3 standard box fans to create the over pressure needed to keep the dust to a minimum.

I'll keep this thread going on how it turns out...

Color plan sounds good with the oiled leather. Which bike are you doing? Keep us posted, and pictures are always good too!
