Wheel Weights on a 2011 Storm

Is there anyone else who doesn't have wheel weights on their rear wheel?

I know this seems like a strange question so here is the background. I went for a short ride yesterday and heard a metal "clank." I saw something go flying out of the corner of my eye but there was too much traffic for me to turn around and see if my tire had just picked something up or something had flown from my bike. I pulled into a parking lot, inspected the bike and could find nothing missing.

Fast forward to today when I was leaving work. It occurred to me that it was probably a wheel weight. Sure enough I found the wheel weights were thrown from the front wheel (found the ruminants of the sticky stuff that held them on). I still haven't found what the weights contacted on the bike to make the noise. I haven't decided if I will get the wheel rebalanced or just buy some weights to replace the ones that fell off. Wish I knew what size they were! My dealer is 90 minutes away.

I then proceeded to look at the back wheel and I noticed there was no evidence of the sticky substance that holds the weights on so I assume that wheel never had any weights?

I wouldn't worry about it. I recall checking into this on my speedy and people saying the rear isn't really in need of a weight i guess due to the size and weight. I don't think mine even has one, tho i may be wrong. I remember my speedmaster had no balance issues even at high speed w/o one.

I can second that... 303 Cycles (here in Denver) just used Dyna-Beads in my brand-new Metzeler rear.. NO WEIGHTS/NO PROBLEM.
