Fitting the Triumph alarm

I just traded my America for a new Thunderbird and want to fit the genuine alarm.
Has anyone fitted one lately and are there any tricks or tips I need to know?

I installed the Triumph alarm on mine - not too difficult, the complete instructions are online at http://www.triumphinstructions.com/. The only thing I could not do was to change the factory default settings for things such as sensitivity - those require a specific code to enter the settings area and the instructions did not provide the code. Apparently the factory trained service techs have all that data.

One other caveat - the system is self-arming, and arms itself about 40 seconds after the ignition is turned off, so you'll need to keep that fob handy even when at a gas stop. It will also self-arm even after you disarm it with the fob. Also it will be somewhat of a pain for any servicing, especially anything done at a non-Triumph shop. That being said, I do feel better about having the system - since these are not exactly common bikes, they might draw some "special" attention...

Thanks for the link - excellent stuff.
Can't wait to get some miles up on it. Bit wet and windy here at the moment. Still, it's nice just to look at it!
