Faulty Speedo's & ABs

Took the bike in to get the last 2 recalls or whatever they are called fixed. That was done but when I went to pick it up they noticed that the ABS was not working and the light didnt come on.

Left the bike and went back to pick it up today and they found the problem, they put the wrong speedo on the bike. Apparently if your bike has ABS brakes you their is a slight difference between speedos. Anyway now have my original speedo back on ( with the cap in the centre ) and will hopefully get a replacement put on next week.

What happened with me was when I went into see them about the faulty speedo for the 4th time they noticed one new speedo had come in and put that on to satisfy me.

I have done over 1300 k's with the new speedo and didnt even realise that ABS didnt work or that the ABS light didnt light when starting the bike.....

So atm, its back to square one.........

Yikes that does not exactly install confidence when they dealer fits the wrong part on your bike.

Not sure I believe that explanation from your dealer. Mine has lights for ABS but they're not connected as I don't have it. But I could get it fitted, it doesn't make sense to change the speedo every time they fit ABS. Surely they would fit ABS to my bike and connect the wires to get the sensors working and the speedo warning lights. Why would you have a different speedo?

I wondered exactly the same thing but when they put the old speedo back on the ABS light worked. Triumph wont take the replacement back as it has k's on it .

I cant see why he would lie to me as a new one is getting put on next week but I find it very strange....apparently my "replacement" is going on another non ABS bike and the new ABS speedo is going on mine. Maybe its something in the speedos "chip" that talks to the ABS ....

Look the dealer here is pretty good, this is 5th new bike I have purchased from them and if they screwed me around there would be no 6th bike
