While I was at the Bennington Bash this weekend, I helped rewire some lights on a Sprint, and fortunately I had a roll of this tape in my tool roll. It has no sticky side like electricians' tape, but rather, adheres to itself, and is safe up to 8000 degrees and in gas, coolant, etc. I have used it to seal broken pipes and for wrapping wires, and it has been absolutely reliable in these jobs. I encourage anyone who keeps a tool roll on their bike to find some of this and bring it along. It is great stuff!

we use the Scotch "aviation" version of this but it's light gray so i never took any home. great to see there's a black version out there cause this stuff is AWESOME! as strong as it is pliable (which is a lot) and would happily re-wrap my entire headlamp wiring harness using this tape :D great suggestion post ssevy!
