Won't have to take my bike in for the mandatory emissions test for another year or so, but in the interim find myself tempted by the many performance enhancement options from NewBonneville etc. However, will I have to temporarily reverse all of these to pass the emissions tests? Tried a search here to no avail.

There will be no blanket answer to this. In AZ you'll have no check with the outfit you will use to do yours and learn the standards and methodology and CO minimums for model years. On cars, strict states have machines which communicate with the state database via the OBD II plug and don't use a sniffer at all. Some states ditched bikes entirely. Maybe bikes aren't model year specific in AZ? You'll have to ask..., but obviously DON'T mention losing the cat! :D

Can't imagine having to reinstall the cat for emissions testing, and then removing it again. This would take a considerable effort, probably more than having an x-pipe is worth.

I thought Maricopa County was the only county in Arizona that had mandatory emissions testing for motorcycles and that was thrown out several years ago. Why would Tucson still have it? Have you moved somewhere else?

When I had my previous bike I was living in Maricopa. I’m now in Tucson (Pima County) and they require it for cars so I assumed the same for motorcycles. I’ll have to look into it. Would be great if it’s not required!

I agree. That’s why I asked before plucking any money down.

I just Googled. No emissions for motorcycles in Arizona. There was in Maricopa County, but that ended in 2013.

Looks like you don't even have inspections. Ride on and mod away!

CA never figured out how to test bikes at registration, they just fine the crap out of shops they catch doing illegal smog alterations.

I found that too, though a bit confusing initially as the first paragraphs speak of 'all vehicles', which if taken literally would include atvs, snow mobiles, powered bicycles etc. Further down they show the motorcycle exclusion. No mention of atvs...

Now, part of me says 'have fun modding away' but my pocketbooks says 'wait a minute:| Somehow I think the former will win out:grin2:
