I was out on the Tiger as usual yesterday, did about 150miles - nice day as it turned out. On my way home I called in at Rivington Barn to see if any faces were there.

Wow! it seemed everyone was out, including the power rangers! With all the dog walkers, hikers, and ramblers, the place was gridlocked. It looked like a July sunday in the middle of winter.

Funny, I didn't see many bikes on the road whilst I out riding.
Maybe they were all at Rivington discussing knee-sliders and dynos

I made the decision not to go out on the bike but to observe at a pre65 trial run by the club I'm a member of, its was b freezing stood about, glad I took my flask, when I got home the other half fancied a walk, so not wanting to prejudice my plan to change the bike in the near future we had an hour on the Leeds Liverpool canal bank.
Still deliberating new 955i Tiger or 1050 Tiger??

I'm with you Martin (SHUT UP ALL OF YOU WHO HAD A GREAT DAY RIDING!!!!!), only joking. Toothpick txt me on Saturday night asking if I fancied a a ride out into Wales on Sunday. Unfortunatly I'd promised "her in doors" a trip to IKEA so i had to refuse.

I know where i would have liked to have been and not standing in the checkout queue at IKEA with 50 million others.

Oh, and Toothpick txt me to say what a great day he had!

Let us all pray to the Sun God for some decent weather, amen.

Phil

Well today is the first day over here we haven't had gale force winds to play with. So (big rasberry) to you all. I'm leaving in half an hour to go on my favorite ride up the Antrim coast will post pics later. Come join me if you like - bring you winter woolies, a bit nippy, but great ride in this weather.

Freezing today but I got up ealry and had a 3 hour spin out to North Wales: Chester, Mold, Ruthin then over the B5105 to the A5, on towards Betws-y-coed and then towards Denbigh on the amazing A543. this 14 mile stretch is easily as good as the Cat & Fiddle and provides excellent visibility with almost no traffic. An excellent ride made possible with Triumph's heated grips (grins).

On the way home I popped into Bill Smiths to eye up the new Tiger. It looks like a lovely machine which I will certainly be test riding soon. I'm not keen to change my 06 though!

I must have been having fun 'cos I make a mental check on my fuel consumption every time I fill up. I dropped from 50-ish mpg to about 42.

I've always thought the Cat & Fiddle is over-rated. There are lots of better roads, especially if you're riding a Tiger. It's just the C&F is well known and notorious which has somehow elevated it to "legendary" status.

And as you've found out Jonny, on any roads, Tiger smile-miles = lower MPG

went out for 3-4 hours this afternoon, weather was fine apart from a short downpour and hailstones.Sun was out all afternoon.

Wrapped up warm and wasn't cold and just loved the sound of my new cabon silencer since I had it fitted, no earplugs today and the sound was great :-D
