So, my 96 sprint sprag is bad. I don't have enough time to fix it before a trip with my brother to the black hills of South Dakota in two weeks.
If I can figure a sure fire way to pull/push start the thing, would it screw anything up?
I was able to start it with the sprag all chunky and it was fine when running.
Could I really screw up the engine by running it with a bad sprag?
Is it just confined to a centrifugal force starting event?
Thanks for your advice,
Mike

Long as you got hills, I think you should be ok... :p

I feel for you man, what a freakin' pain at exactly the wrong time.

To the best of my knowledge, your sprag is as broken as it's going to get and it's not likely to hurt anything else. I do not, however, know that for sure.

Part of me wonders whether that broken spring can go anywhere; another part of me is wondering whether you could rig up an old-school crank to use on the end of the, well, crank....

Good luck!

you will be fine bump starting it, especially if your brother is willing to help push!
you will both develop well defined calf muscles, and forearms if you do it alot tho!
