pump a flush solvent under pressure thru a filter.

if you want it pristine picky change to cleaner flush until it's as perfect as the picky engine screen will ever need...don't use water.

the only real dirt in there would be if it was running non-detergent oil... those were the oil cross-over years...but the tell-tale would be the engine condition and if it's burning like a banshee.

if you're starting with non-d sludge, then start the flush with kerosene for the heavy and don't worry about the filter at first...dump the crud with the drain.

if you're starting with rust, then you have to start the flush with the acid to clean out gas tanks before coating their insides.

please tell me you're not starting with rusty innerds, because the story about rusty bits can be a sad tale...
