Hey Schim I don't know if you're aware but there's an upgrade for the location on of the RR on 1050 Sprints from about 2009 onwards and all GT's. The new location is at the top of the LH fairing and a revised fairing bracket with mounting provision for the RR to this location is available. No wiring mods required as the harness is long enough and the benefit is much improved cooling. The part is quite inexpensive.
Nice bike!

sussuf - No sir was not aware of that. This is a 2005, so maybe different ?

Either way should be good. I upgraded to the Ricks Stator, Mosfet Reg/Rec, and direct wiring harness. Also cut some of the foam away from inside the fairing to let more air flow.

This setup has been bullet proof on my Daytona for 6-7 years now ...

Thanks for the info though.

Been a busy couple of days in the bike garage:
Finished prepping the dirt scoot for this weekends race, buttoned up some items on the rear of the Daytona, and started an easy pull clutch kit on the dyna .....

Made up a register plate holder since my old one snapped next to a mounting bolt and bye bye it went. Garbage piece of 4/6mm quintet aluminium sheet cut to form and soda blasted for nice matte finish, upper right corner bolt for plate is also register plate light. Fitting piece I made out of 5mm steel, this time it should hold. Also fixed some little things here and there, changed brake light switch and bled rear brake. I think tomorrow is a big day for a new season if it's not snowing.
