Found this among some Triumph parts -- the two flat strips fit snug either side of the T140 front engine mount ,with the tube in front of the frame - the ends of the tube have a threaded insert - I suspect it is possibly part of a front crash bar assy - can anyone shed light on it ?

Hi Stuart - those are some possibilities that crossed my mind too - but if it is fixed to the front engine mount there is nothing to stop it moving up or down about the fixing bolt until it touches the frame - there must be some other bracketry to hold it in position --( BUT there is also the possibility that it has nothing to do with a Triumph and the fact that it appears to fit is just coincidence )
--- there is one bolt screwed into the threaded insert on one end ; this has a penny washer and thick rubber washer on it - the rubber washer suggests anti vibration mount -- so fairing mount ?
