Ok British guys, I got a question for you

I've been watching the wheeler dealer show in the USA where he buys a **** box and has Ed fix it up

He's always talking a pound and quid what is that in american money it is so hard to figure out how much it is?

Oh and when he sells them there is hardly any profit does Ed really work that cheap or do you guys just not make any money?

A quid is the British equivalent of a "buck" in the US.

So a pound and quid is the same? I kinda figured it was worth more than dollar

Just confusing the way they went from pound to quid

Thanks guys

Let's hope they don't start selling cars by the "guinea", then you'll REALLY get confused!!:D

Ok, so I have a related question.

On that same Wheeler Dealer show, at the end of each program Mike says something in closing that I simply can't discern what he's said. It kind of sounds like "So long", but not quite.

Anyone know what that is?

I also can't figure out why Ed's time is never figured in as part of the cost of making a profit. Who would work for free?

You feel the same way about Ed too it's like he works for free I can't understand their profit margin either

To me it sounds like he says tala for now?

Not sure, mostly because I don't know what you'd think is slang and what's just normal.
