Ok. Let's play the old game now!

How would you like the next gen Sprint to be? What would you like to change or improve?

Myself I have the following things on my list.

1. BETTER HEADLIGHTS
2. Improved suspension (in the same SPORT-touring theme though) and fully adjustable fork.
3. Somewhat better wind protection for the head.
4. A bit more attention to detail and perceived build quality

That's about it really.

What I wouldn't like would be for the Sprint to go down the path of sport-TOURER, as the changes for the 07 signify.

I guess much of how the Sprint will develop will depend on how the new VFR (Interceptor) will be like when Honda decides to update it.

Something to set it apart (in a good way) from the Tiger. As it is now, the only thing the Tiger has against it (for those of us under 5'10") is it's height. At 5'8" I COULD control it walking around a parking lot with it, but just barely. Otherwise, the Tiger has the Sprint matched, at least, according to those who have ridden it. (And why wouldn't it, they've used 2 years of the Sprint lifespan to build on for the Tiger)

So, I'd think that if you were to want to make the Sprint sales worthy in the future, you might want to think higher horsepower. Something around 150 or 160 hp. Keep the Tiger where it is. That way you have a very good touring machine with a great engine, and then you have a rocket that can tour (similar to the new Concours). I would say that headlights, brakes, and suspension improvement would be compulsory with this model.

I can't resist...
Triumph's wish for improvements on the next generation Sprint OWNER:

The ability to use an Allen wrench and a little understanding of their product!

LMAO...it really isn't that hard. 30 second job.

While I will agree that selecting between the two might be tough for some types of riders, I do think that there are quite a few things that set them apart, on top of the quite noticeable 10-15 ponnies at the back wheel.

1. Riding position and general riding and turning style.

2. High speed stability in the straights and in turns vs relative nimbleness in town traffic and super tight twisties

3. Weather protection

4. Almost total inability vs limited ability for riding on dirt.

5. Looks

Having said that, I wouldn't mind a few more ponnies as long as they were not at the expense of midrange torque, but I'm not at all sure what I'd do with them.

I,m with you on this one, this sucks. I think this is the longest no ride period I've had in several winters. bete

First, and by far fore most IMO, the headlights, they are useless unless you ride strait and flat... where I live, and most of us prefer to ride, that doesn't exist.

Wind protection, which has been addressed to some degree by the standard equip change for '07. It will please some more than others.

Better alt. output, it is the weakest in the entire ST segment, and won't fully support the needs of those who utilize a significant amount of juice to run aux gear (lights; heated gear & grips; comm systems w/ multiple components like tunes, GPS, RD's, FRS, cell).

The overall bag design still leaves some to be desired in terms of operation, capacity, and positioning to be more pillion friendly.

The mirrors would benefit a lot from a bit more extension too...

I'm with you both about the headlights (as I have already mentioned) and the alternator outut.

One way to kill (or at least injure) both birds with one stone is to install HID for all beams. You get a measurable improvement in light output (of course you don't really solve the bad design problem) and you save 40-60 watts of power.

I think my ST fits me perfectly. I would hope that they change very very little...the 07 changes like higher bars and windscreen are already more than I would want. I don't mind the headlights, I'm content to ride slow after dark. Brakes are acceptable, better than my last bike, and I have 0 complaints about the suspension. I don't think I would change much about the bike at all. Maybe a few more hp...but I really don't need it.

I love the ST as is , if I were to make any changes it would be to follow the FJR, Concourse or ST 1300 line up instead of the VFR lines. A little more giddy-up and improved handling more alt output for electronic goodies, I like the touring aspect and weather protection.

1) Adjustability of ALL rider-bike contact points including pillion areas.

2) A tank bag that doesn't require a bra that covers the whole tank (and thus the beautiful paint) - or color-coded bras.

3) Hard Bags that work outta the box and fit a full-face helmet on either side.

Bonus: Choice between full and half fairing (what can I say - I like to see the motor).

Top of my list is...

1. a BIGGER engine i.e. 1300cc...& MORE TORQUE....
& so she doe'nt run out of steam/revs at speed...
(on the Nurburgring occifer) !

2. an ST in ROULETTE GREEN ! :yayyy:

3. a seat lock as seen on the PROTOTYPE 1050ST,
instead of the silly allen key bolts, so I can easily
remove my PIG UGLY tank bag cover & expose that
lovely paintwork ! :brk:

4. a LOWER seat so I can let my wife ride the ST
when the 1300 finally comes out !

1. Brakes that work properly
2. Fully adjustable suspension front and rear
3. Brakes that work properly
4. Hard bags that hold a full face helmet and attach easily
5. Brakes that work properly
6. Better seat attachment
7. A corporation that will actually honor the warranty when the brakes fail
8. Better gauges (the numbers on the speedo are kind of small)
9. Brakes that work properly
10. Standard heated grips

Until then, I will give my money to other motorcycle manufacturers.
