Me too!! I settled for Hagon but Koni would be a better bit of gear I think. RR

I agree that Koni would be better ,but for the fact that Koni no longer makes bike shocks.
When I went looking for them some months back I learned that they were not making twin shocks any more,what a dissapointment.

Koni production continues under the name "IKON" in Australia. I recently bought a pair for my Guzzi SP (Identical to the old Koni "dial a ride" shocks). Same excellent quality, not cheap, but worth it.
Why is it everthing from Oz costs so much,the Trispark ignition is more than double the cost of a Boyer and almost double as much as the others?As soon as I have the extra cash I`ll be getting a Trispark,I`m desperate to know if they are as good as some say.

Firstly, Australia is often referred to as the "lucky country".
When economic times are hard, we dig another hole in the ground (minerals), and all is well. Subsequently we have learned to live beyond our means, and will not work for a reasonable wage. Therefore anything made here will not be cheap. That's the sum of it.
Save yourself some money and buy a Pazon EI unit from NZ. RR

Tri-spark
I have tri-spark on my Trident and am very happy with it. I inquired about the rev-limiter model for my TR7, but those are made for racing only. I suppose that would include an advance curve appropriate for racing but not street riding. I think Tri-spark is on the leading edge of technology, but all the others now have the idle-calming feature too. Bob

So I don't commit the great sin of double-posting - see my "72 Bonnie....." thread for all that happened in the last 2 days......
How do you describe the idle-calming feature,I`ve read that users report a better idle with this system?

I never knew Alberta was a biker or that she loved Triumph's like I do!
I woulda let her ride in the back seat of my '51 Ford Crestliner instead of the trunk if I knew that! And then maybe one of the charges against us - "cruel transportation of an animal", with a 2 yr. max sentence and $2,000 fine wouldn't have been filed!
They pulled the law from around 1900 when people would truck around horses, pigs and cows in trucks in freezing temps and kill them 'cause they didn't know anything then about wind chill factor.......

I think it's a marketing thing. Back when points were the only option, it was a matter of pride to get the idle as low as possible, believing that this was a sign of a well-tuned engine. If you could idle slower than a loping Harley, you could gloat. The only thing the EI knows is your engine speed and the only thing it can vary is the advance and possibly duration of the spark. I can't think of how the duration or strength of the spark would vary, once the field inside the coil collapses, it sparks. All of this happens downstream from the ignition box. In a points system it either makes contact or not assuming your condensers work. If it works, it's a wonderful thing. My newest EI is 4 years old. I'm curious too. I haven't varied the timing after strobing at high RPM and don't remember the effects of timing on idle speed. It's been set-it-and-forget-it and I forgot. Bob

Tritons command a high price lately. The weight and vibration of the Atlas motor would be a negative factor. I expect the motor that is closest to running condition would be a plus. Old school choppers seem to be the most common source for running motors. For a true cafe racer, the unit Triumph would be fastest and therefore the best. Bob

Nice job Bill! Those look great, very professional looking job. Did you ever paint your tank, or still polished?
The best thing I've done for my bike recently is buy a 55 gallon drum of Phillips 100 octane race fuel. Street legal, no metals like lead, so I can use it in my new bike too, and zero ethanol so I can store it longer.

Put about 50 miles on the T120V, ran out of gas after my reserve only lasted for 4 miles (????????) and pushed her a short 2 blocks to a station on flat roads......

Same thing happened to me on my T140V. Turned out it had two reserve taps, because you are supposed to run with both taps open. I fitted a main tap, because I don't do a lot of 'vigorous riding' (aka racing).
