Decided to check out battery after winter hibernation
It's a great feeling Ally. Enjoy your 'bike and the good weather! Must get mine out now!!Phoned and sorted insurance this morning
My car was in the same place for MOT this morning , so when I called to see if it was ready I asked them when I could bring the bonnie in ?.
"Now" was the reply ,,,
so we made the MOT appointment (in UK you can only, legally, ride an untaxed bike if you have an appointment for MOT)
I gave her a check over , tried all the switches and lights ,put a gallon of juice in , fired-up and headed off . . .
Beautiful day , bike running great , going for first test in 4 years . . . after taking the 'scenic-route' to the place, I left my bike, helmet and jacket with them and took my car home , having passed its MOT only needing a trackrod thingy
I then walked the worried-walk back to see how the bike got on ...
Passed !!! , the tester said he'd to adjust the headlight and noted that , but otherwise perfect
Took the scenic route home againJust need to sort roadtax now
I'm chuffed !,
Ally
Sam, your Bonnie just keeps getting better and better...looks fantastic. I notice you've put on white indicator lenses....where did you source these?I changed out the original side covers on my '77 T140V for retro ones and fitted pancake filters. It can all be easily reverted back if required.
I bought it with the chromed back panels, which were a bit pitted and the plastic covers took a LOT of fettling to look good.
The left hand retro fibre glass replacement needed a little trimming to fit around the seat hinge and chain guard. I got them painted black and laquered when the tank was done.

Let me know when you're comin'...everyone, welcome anytime, love to show you around my wee uncrowded part of the world...made for 'bikes!Ah so thats Lough neagh, another on my list to visit.
Nice looking original Bonnie there JCB and looks like the "clunkers" have a ecclectic mix of fine machines there.Out with the local Old Clunker club last night round the local countryside, some on 'other' makes , pleasant ride round .
Nice video, your 'bike is running sweet!!Short video of me setting up the camera. It's kind of high sitting on top of my helmet, but still good. Enjoy!

Digging the chrome tank!!Snuck in an autumn ride during a 2 hour dry spot in between all this rain. Looks like we may be in for a lot of snow this winter so riding as much as possible.

Thanks for the good wishes buddy...I'm awaiting bypass surgery for an aneurysm in my right leg (yes, the one I kickstart with!) which has restricted me a bit but it hasn't stopped me using the 'bike this year. Hope you're not in line for the hurricane there? Take careThanks Rath. The new chrome tank solved my seemingly endless string of leaky used tanks that I was experiencing. Glad to see you kept your great bike. Hope all is well. Cheers from Canada!![]()

Sam, are you still running points in the Bonnie?Had my 2002 MGF sports car and 1977 T140V tucked up for the winter in my father in law's garage for a few months now, so went down there this morning to fire them up.
MGF's battery was as flat as a pancake.
Bonnie burst into life on second kick. That's my girl!
