Replaced both the original fork seals (leaking) and painted the headlight "ears" (black) that attach it to the forks. Put up a few miles yesterday, it's been sunny and dry for a change and every time I go out on the Triumph it makes me smile
Hoping to help a friend do some work on his T140D Special (US spec) today if his parts arrive.... these are drop dead gorgeous looking 'bikes, never seen one in the flesh before...

Continued my running argument with #1 carb. Installed new cable stops. Some help, but not enough. Will continue fussing with the carb tomorrow.

Yeah it all started, last winter when I was helping him get some mods figured out. I made the comment, he should go for a 1200 kit. Told him my old 750 would smoke him. Then when we were out riding, we stopped and he said "shes pretty qwick huh?" I said yea for a 750 she does alright. Awhile later he decided to put the coals to his leaving a stop sign, I started about 2 bikes lengths behind him and wasnt even running as hard as I could, which turned into....... I think he let off at about 70-75 cuz at that point I started just walking away from him.
Needless to say, I am going to need to come into some money, so I can make some "mods" myself, if he is going to get a 1200 kit. I am running a well tuned stock right now, I would like to open her up and let her breath better. I even think with some work I could hide 2 small nitrous bottles behind those stock side covers. :) :) I know shes old, and I dont want her to break, but I just love the look on peoples faces when they see her get up and go. Not to mention the rush.

So on the Isles and in La Belle France you're paying for a pint of Guinness what we pay for a four pack pint of draft in the states?
Ahh Guinness, my favourite subject! ;) In Ireland (where the best stuff is made) we pay about £2.70 - £3.00 for a proper draught pint (568mls)in a glass (in the pub/club/hotel) and around £4.80 for a 4 pack of 500ml draught cans in the supermarket/off licience.

Above prices in £stg for N Ireland. In the Republic it's around 5 euros for a pint in a pub.....expensive for sure.

Hope you're sufficiently confused..:D

I'm just back from the Republic (Co. Clare) :)

A pint there is 4,00 €, which is almost half what I was paying in SW France which was about 3,60 € for 25 cl.
I'll do some "research" this weekend in Belgium, but a pint should be about 5,00 € - 6,00 €.

Webby you`re back, wondered why your expertise had dried-up :)
Here on the showery Isle of Wight, the black stuff is £3 per pint.
(in my local)
Hi Caulky,

Sorry for the absence, between moving house and working abroad I've been pretty busy. I still don't have internet at home, so I have to stay at work to see whats happening here.

You'll be hearing a lot of me in a couple of weeks once I get the interet at home :)

How's the bike?

broke down!

went for my MOT - bike's been off the road for a bit.

(MOT is an annual road safety test that you must have)

broke down half way there!! It just died and refused to start.

I had some tools but not enough and I'm pretty sure that my battery is the culprit. I pulled the HT lead and there's only a pathetic orange spark.

It cost me £50 to get home but compared to trekking here and there to try to fix it at the road side, it's a bargain, even if embarrassing.

I fiddled with the lights at the weekend and must admit that I didn't charge the battery for ages (I have RITA)

Guess what I'm doing this weekend/tonight!??

I put on my clocks after getting them rebuilt at Nisonger...I had a borrowed set on while mine were being serviced. The borrowed ones were more for appearance as they were not accurate and pretty worn out as well. Nice to have an accurate and working set of clocks on the old girl...
