from uk mot manual, it depends on the tester it seems

Mandatory direction indicators must have minimum separation distances between the illuminating surfaces of:
  • mopeds (Category L1) - 240mm at the front and 160mm at the rear
  • solo motorcycles - 240mm at the front and 180mm at the rear
  • motorcycle and sidecar - 400mm at both front and rear
There is no requirement to measure the separation distance and they should only be rejected if the separation distance is obviously incorrect.

Due to a Health Issue my 07 T100 has been sitting in a damp shed, along with my 75 T160, since Oct 21. Following the all clear around Christmas time, I have ventured out to the shed and started recommissioning the bike(s). Before coming unwell, I had given the T100 a partial strip down to get it cleaned up a bit and got a few parts powder coated as well as buying a set of s/s downpipes from Norman Hyde. With the help of my mate, we got all the bits back on the bike and got it fired up so all happy here. Still a couple of wee tweaks, the tacho isn't working and a slight exhaust leak where the downpipes join the silencers, so a wee bit of sealing to do there.
Next up the T160 which should be an easy one, as all I took off that was the tank, just refit that, deal with the wet sumping, and hopefully away that'll go. Just waiting on my licence coming back from DVLA and away I go.

The '13 bonnie is currently being completely stripped down as it is overdue for a full complete service (fork oil, brake fluids, pads, engine oil, etc.) and complete cleaning/detailing. Taking the opportunity to make a few minor upgrades and changes (relocation of ign switch, new headlight brackets, etc.).

We were too busy keeping tabs on fighters shooting down chinese "weather" balloons off our coast.

Had planned a ride to check out a few issues. Don't have but 80 miles in this year. :cautious: But visited my 81-year-old mom instead. She just lost her Yorkie after 11 years.

I used to think that leathers were for posing. Then I did some winter riding......I rather enjoy it. You don't have that hair dryer blowing in your face, every crevice is fighting back cool air/temps.

Non rider: "But, man, you get all that cool wind when you ride."

Me: "Nooo. It's hot air, and hotter when you stop."

Ride safe.

Yesterday, had a dyno tune with the recently fitted Verex full system. The tuner gave me the snorkel in a plastic bag and claimed that just its removal produced about an extra 5 horsepower.
The bike is snappy now, and is giving better fuel economy than stock, but I'm not sure that I can live with the noise level, even with the optional decibel killers installed.

Nice combo! I've got a 2013 Softail Standard with less than 17,000 km and a T120 which I tend to ride more often. My wife actually prefers the T120 as a pillion bike as a newcomer to bikes in her mid 60s!

Thanks! I like all bikes but am partial to softail HD's and Triumphs. The t100 is my local runabout although I do occasionally take it on longer rides. The softail is for long distance cruises. A t120 would literally sit in between these two in terms of ride, comfort and ability.

Well, to tell the truth, I'd rather be riding my shovelhead, it's just got a 'soul', unlike these modern bikes. But, I like my Bonneville, and unless they come out with a miraculous cure for me, the Trumpet will be the only bike I ride.

Yesterday, I finished up my LED turn signals, fixed a fork seal leak, and put a set of gaiters on her, looks much better.

With temperatures near 40C~104F week after week, the popping from the BC mufflers was too much even to myself, so I decide to remove the SAI today. I bought two M12x1.25 plugs used in many Toyota cars and it worked like a charm.

Past year I tried to order the fancy ones, but the companies do not ship to Brazil or it was to expansive to sent here.

I attached the solenoid with a plastic tie wrap to not trigger the engine light. Do we know its resistance so I can make a resistor to its connector plug?

Unfortunately I had to recover my bike which had been dragged across the road by thieves and beat up somewhat.
Three things saved it from vanishing altogether. The tiny Kryptonite disc lock which resisted jemmy and hammer.

The fact that the battery was overdue a top up charge. And mostly the fact that they didn't know to usee manual choke. So they gave up after 10 minutes.
Th ignition keyhole is mulllered but functional but the harness has been severed, Indicators snapped off but I am putting my old bullet ones back on. headlamp bracket bent so that's about it. at least they didn't drop it and do more damage.

Kicking myself the bike didn't even need to be round the front.

I have sourced an ignition switch but it only seems to have 4 wires instead of 6. Is there some mod where they link out the two thinner wires? I have asked the seller to clarify.

 I have CCTV from a neighbour but unfortunately the police are so undermanned they don't even attend robberies with actual bodily harm let alone bike thefts.
