Admired them! It’s Easter. The roads are covered in Cops & Idiots. & there are double demerit points for any infringement! So I’ll save my riding until Tuesday, weather permitting.

Today I took a ride to a post office. Picked one in a small nearby town that I can get to entirely on twisty back roads. Couldn't come straight home, either. Short ride, but it's a beautiful day so all that matters is being out riding. Saw a beautiful 50s red pickup, and it was actually being used to haul a load of wood! The only thing cooler than owning a truck like that is actually using is as a truck.

Getting ready for the season. Today I spent a little more than three hours cleaning around the engine, lots of burned on oil (from crankcase breather filter) and baked on gas residue (leaky carb).
The carbs are on my bench for an overhaul and while they’re out I had plenty of space to work on cleaning.
Not perfect, but much better!

I haven’t polished the chromework yet, will do so once the mechanical stuff is complete.

I was confused for a while. There was Peter Brock the Australian race car driver and there is Peter Brock the American race car designer.

To add to my confusion, the Australian Brock drove a Daytona Coupe, built in Australia and based on the Shelby Daytona Coupe, which was designed by the American Brock, complete with Kamm tail

As some might say: look at the arse on that!

Haia...
Well, according to the BBC:
<quote>With Wales' temperatures higher than in Greece, Turkey and the south of Italy, visitors flocked to beaches and national parks across Wales.<unquote>
I went for a 200 (ish) mile ride to see if I could find the quiet backroads and avoid the 'grockles'. Yup, that I did.
Very nice too. Lots of bikes out.
I nipped back via the Elan Valley and caught up with a bike and sidecar. Don't see many of those around nowadays.

Imagine my surprise when I saw that it was a Triumph 1200 Scrambler! (Guess what I was riding)
Any outfit must be a pain on narrow roads with few passing places, especially without a reverse gear!
Much kudos to him... and yes, he pulled over to let me pass.

I'm sure I've got a road test of one of them in an old 'Car' mag somewhere.

Needed a new lightweight cooking stove for moto-camping at the up-coming ABR rally next month, so I took the most direct route from my house to go shopping.

Hmmm, going to need new tyres soon.
Might have to go shopping again :sneaky:

Took my 1976 Honda z50J to a bike show in North Devon today. Knew there'd be many beautiful Triumphs to look at so wanted to bring something different to the table. Over 6000 bikes there today and not another monkey bike there!

Really hoped to win either Best Classic, Best Vintage or Kids Choice..but sadly I'm left concluded the awards are rigged..

What a day ! decided to go for a ride on my Bonnie and after about 10 miles the back tyre goes flat, should have taken my small compressor to pump up the tyre. But maybe it would not have stayed up long. So phone the recovery company and no one speaks English so with my best (read poor for that) Spanish I explain where I am etc and where to be taken etc. Over an hour later in the boiling hot sun a van turns up and we get the bike into the back and delivered to my friend's workshop.
Problem number 2, because I'd ridden the bike a short distance with a flat tyre the Avon Spirit is doubtful for reuse and its not possible to find another one in Spain at the moment. Probably because of Bleep, Bleep Brexit !.
So Michelin Pilot Road 2 which was okay when I used to have my Kawasaki bikes, but very expensive here.
My friend from my village collected me and took me back home where I will wait for a delivery date for the new tyre etc. an expensive 10 mile trip :cry::cry:
