Great little half-day trip combining some terrific twisty pavement and some very scenic dirt roads above the Columbia River here in Washington State. The Scrambler, once again, acquitted itself very well!

Below the town of Chelan is the Beebe bridge, across the Columbia.

Near the bridge is the turn off to McNeil Canyon Road - freshly repaved and twisty as ever! The 12% grade sign provides a hint of the twisties to come...

Riders who slow down enough (really hard to do) will find some terrific scenery. Here is 50 mile long Lake Chelan, Chelan Butte and a tiny bit of the Columbia River:

At the top of the canyon, it's a different world. Colder. Windy. Stark. Nearly deserted except for wheat farmers. Note the really nice pavement though... A Thruxton, Sprint or Speed Triple would be awesome on this road.

More coming...

After plenty of paved twisties it was time to hit the dirt and put the Tourances to work!

Roads like this make me so glad I've got a Scrambler:

Back down along the Columbia it's much warmer and the orchards are in bloom.

It was a mighty fine ride!
