I'm new to Los Angeles and need a navigation app that factors in HOV/fast-track and splitting lanes. Any suggestions?

My go to iPhone app right now is Waze with motorcycle as the vehicle. Is this the best option?

Waze had a recent update that includes a HOV on/off option. It's under the Settings/Navigation menu. In the Maryland/DC/Virgina area, it works pretty well, and only dumps me on the HOV if traffic in the regular lanes is bad.

I have seen a motorcycle option (under Settings/Navigation/Vehicle Type) on Waze as well, but haven't used it. Yet. But warm weather is coming and Beastie is eager to stretch her legs...

Can't help with lane splitting - I've never lived in a place where it was a regular thing, and the one time I tried it, some jerk tossed a fountain drink at me as I went by.

I see that this is an old post but thought I would throw in my option of the best Motorcycle mapping app for iPhone:

http://carobapps.com/products/inroute/

inRoute Route Planner by Carob Apps, LLC https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/inroute-route-planner/id703796787?mt=8

You can tell the program which route you want to ride by inputting the ‘Start’, ‘End’, and ‘Waypoints’.

You can also tell the program what time you plan to start your trip and it will tell you where sunrise, sunset will occur on your route, as well as tell you the high and low elevations.

Winner winner chicken dinner!
