when you powering on the chain pulls onto the wheel bearings, power off and load removed. You might be using enough power to get what performance you want and be using more power when two up, plus the chain will be tighter due tolowered suspension.
It used to be a technique with triumphs to keep power on when cornering. this enabled the chain to act like the string of abow and keep the swing arm stable to stop the bike weaving. problem was you ended up going faster and faster on long bends
