Sorry for this worn out subject, but couldn't locate a good answer.

I'm looking for paint codes or color matches for Pacific Blue and Ice White for my '71 Trophy project. I'm not happy with the paint choices and pricing I've found among some of the popular Internet paint suppliers. I've painted entire little British cars for what they want for materials to paint a gas tank.

I've located a Dupont paint code for Pacific Blue for a modern Triumph, but I doubt that it is the same color as what was used in the 1960's & 70's. My local PPG paint dealer has a device they call the Prophet. It's a color matching spectrophotometer that can match colors fairly accurately. Anyone have a paint chip laying around for a color match?

Have you tried Don Hutchinson?

I've heard rumors of someone studying a lot of the old Triumph colors and having found 'near exact' matches in modern auto colors ... but I don't know any more about it ...
