Don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but in my opinion, Triumph leather Saddlebags are junk. Every strap on them has broken and I've used leather condition to keep them up. I finally changed them out for Cortech Sportbags/tailbag. At least they are zippered...no straps. Oh yeah, my wife is the one who broke the straps, so I don't think they were being abused. It's actually her bike and except for the leather bags (which are gone now) she loves the bike.

Hmmm.... mine are 11 years old and although they show signs of cracking around the "favourite" holes - they are long way from breaking. Amount of usage obviously counts for something - I don't have them on all the time but they have got a fair amount of usage over the years.

When you say all, do you mean both the anchor straps on the back as well as the straps on the front that hold the lids closed?

By the way - when you say "gone" - did you dump them or sell them? Becuase I might be interested in buying them minus straps for the right price. Let me know.

I meant the straps to hold the lid down.

Sorry I gave them away over a year ago. I went with some left over after market bags I had on an old Harley for a time. They worked OK until I could get the Cortechs, which are nice!
