Just had my 24k mile service done. Also got a new chain and sprokets, frame sliders, and heated grips. The bike is running great and my mpg is up after the tune-up.

I have never had heated grips before and I must say they are awesome! Well worth the money if your hands ever get cold. Now I just need some heated socks.....

And here is a pic of the bike as it is now with the new Sargent seat.

nice - finally a picture of what the button and grips look like.

Is it correct to assume that you MUST use the grips that come with the heating elements? Given the option, I would gladly take my SuperBike SoftGrips over stock any day. How do these compare?

It's all one piece and well designed. You replace the entire throttle tube which has it all glued together. The left side also comes with a tube that gets screwed into place. They work well on my XZ550 and I think I'll be moving them over to my Daytona 675.

Installed mine a couple of weeks ago and this morning was the first real test I gave them. It was 32F when I left the house on my 30 mile commute to work. I ran them on the high setting and my hands never came close to getting cold. When I first saw the grips I was disappointed and thought they looked cheap, but they look pretty decent once on the bike and they feel fairly cushy too.

Very pleased.

Anyone have an idea of how much they cost installed?
I would have done it myself, but I knew it would be a cold ass ride back from the closest dealer (120 miles away), so I had them install it for me.

They charged me for 2 hours - $132.00
Plus the kit retails for $200.00

I paid $200 for the kit and installed them myself in about 2 hours. My dealership said they would charge for 1.5 hours of labor to install them, so approx $100.

They work pretty good, but high setting on my feels like the low setting on my friend's BMW. Still, makes a huge difference.

I got 10% off any accessories when buying my new Sprint, so I ordered the heated grips also. Took 3 weeks before they came in, and another week to get a service appointment. Took them just under 2 hours, but then they said they got the wrong kit. Turns out I have two cables coming out of the throttle body, and the kit they got is for one cable. Anyway, everything's wired and rocker switch installed. They are going to order the correct one. Then I will have to go back and get it finished up. Sigh. I should get something free as a courtesy...don't ya think?
