I am looking for a shorter transmission shifter for my '01 955i. I have a pair of Alpinestar riding boots and the shifter is missing the pad on them. This is causing a bad wear pattern in the boots and completely missing the point of having the pad there in the first place.

I realize that I can shift my foot forward when I'm up shifting however that isn't really natural for me. I also realize that I can just never down shift, therefor alleviating the need to up shift, however that isn't realistic. The shifter on my BMW R1200S hits directly in the middle of the pad.

Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know where I can get a shorter shifter? I talked to my dealer and he said he doesn't know of one. Thanks.

I remember reading awhile ago of sombody fitting a Yamaha yz lever.
I can't remember if it was here or tripletiger.com.If you do a search you should find it I would think, if not someone else with a better memory than me may point you in the correct direction.

Sunline dirtbike shifter from a yz/wr450. it was the right length and had the right curve profile to work without any modifications.
Rainy, Thanks for the reply. Forgive my ignorance when it comes to dirt bikes but is the shifter for the YZ450F03-05 #1602-0034 from http://www.monkeybuttparts.com/pk4/store.pl?view_product=2228 for the same bike? I'm not sure if the model for the bike is actually yz/mr450 or if those are two different bikes, i.e. yz450 and mr450. Thanks again.
