Who’s taken their modern classic to a track day?
I’m finally getting my bike kitted out to go in the spring time. Just bought an arrow scrambler pipe to replace my low hanging D&D Pipes

Sweet build my man! I am sure it will b fun on the track with the right set up. Scrambler arrow pipe set up will look sweet on your Thrux and definitely won’t scrape the ground…lol I have had many D & D,s over the years on my bikes, I like, some of my all time favorites. a Single D & D pipe sound great but when u run a dual set, oh yeh!….FTG

Got the new exhaust in and mocked up.
need to fab some brackets for it now to make it permanent. And then figure out why the motor isn’t running smoothly

Track day prep continues.
I ended up buying a Calfab Aluminum Swingarm which is a truly awesome piece of gear. It does need seals, so those were ordered. It also doesnt have a chain wear guard

I recently bought a 3D printer and printed a chain guard for it and a few other parts

The chain and sprockets have been converted to a 520 setup

I was able to take it for a test ride yesterday. However the new exhaust is a hard no for road racing. And will have to look for a new setup. The ergos are terrible as it sits.

Bike looks great. Did you build up the motor?

Yeah the motor is a 988cc motor making about 92HP. Though that was a few years ago. I think the motor is getting a little tired.

That’s hard to come by these days. I’m trying to piece together a crank and pistons to get to 988. Was it a tpusa kit, what cam profile did you use?

Yeah it was a TPUSA built motor. I bought the motor used as I blew up my first one. So not 100% sure which cams it was
there is a company called bonneville performance which builds crate motors

Had to get rid of the Arrow Exhaust because of the terrible ergo problems it created. Ended up going with the British customs 2-1 predator shorty. Had to hack up the kickstand a bit to get it to fit. But gave it a test ride on the roads and I think it’ll be my best option, at least for the near future.

The exhaust looks flowing and tucked in nice, should have the clearance u need and I bet that 2 into 1 with the shorty pro sounds good and give u some performance back pressure.
well put together Frankenstein bike in a good way, put together with a little of this and a little of that and “Bam” u got a track Bike. I Like, wish I could take it for a spin!…FTG

Well did a couple sessions at NCBike on the Thruxton today. The front suspension is in need of some tuning. I got it a little better, but certainly could get a pro to look at it. Front end confidence was very low. Its also geared a bit short, so will need to fix that before going out next.
Last session of the day I had a HUGE rear slide. So suspension all around probably needs some love

I was checking out your 88’ RZ350 bio. wowowow! I Like, anything crossed with gsxr components like your 1000 Fr end and the rgv250 swing arm is so cool. Back in Cali when I use to shred Hwy 9 any chance I could get behind a 2 stroker like the RZ i woukd get all up in their tail pipe just to inhale the spent gases for a while, so addicting….lol…FTG

I took the RZ out over the weekend as well. It’s an absolute ripper

Looks like a great experience; I’m going to be at NCBike for N2Track day in April 2023 on my basically stock 1200 RS Ton Up edition; should be a hoot on this bike. May see you there if you’re going.
