So I am looking to get some new rubber and can't decide what is more important: sticky or durable? I have heard good things about Pilot Powers and the Diablo Corsa's but they are both 75% track 25% road tires, right? Anyone have any suggestions so I can get the best of both worlds???

My neighbor used the M3's on his busa in the twisties in NC last weekend, he and I were very impressed with them, even on the cold roads they were sticky to touch. I had the Road attack on the front of mine and that didn't budge either,

I forgot to add, there is a lot of tread left. I might even get a couple more thou before having to get a new rear, where with the M1's I would have to replace the rear after 3500 miles. Definitely an improvement!

Continental Road Attacks
Man, I think that's going to be my next set of tires. I've heard nothing but good things about them. I've been using the Dunlop 208s, '7s, '6s, etc for the last decade and really like them. Great on the track, great on the street - but they don't last very long. 4,000 - 5,000 miles usually.

That is incorrect. These are both street tires with the ability to do just fine in a track environment. The Corsa is the sister tire to the M1 Sportec, but with a deeper tread (hence more life) depth.

You CAN get both sticky and durable. Are you planning on doing any trackdays? Are you using the entire tire area? If not, you should look into something like the Pirelli Diablo Strada. It will give most people more traction than they need, with quite a bit more mileage than the standard Corsa, Pilots, Qualifiers, Sportecs, etc.

There are a lot of very good tires out there to choose from.

I like the Pirelli Corsa III on the road and some track, and the Dunlop Sportmax GP on the Track.

The Michelins Pilot Power were too slippery for my style of aggresive riding.

I run 32psi Front and 35psi rear on the road and 30F / 29R on the track.

On my sport bike a sticky tire is a must and on my touring bikes a rain tire with long wearing qualities is a plus.

Ton Up!

I have always used bridgestone on my bikes until last year when my mate told me he used Avon Azaro on his firblade. I tried them on the S3 and have done two track days without any problems and they are great on the road. Plenty of rubber for a very reasonable price.
Both bikes are now shod with Avons.

you all make me jealous talking about tyres lasting for thousands of miles, I've covered only 8000 miles since I bought my S3 and I've gone thru

1 set Diablo's
1 rear 207 dunlop sportsmax (still got the front in the shed)
1 set Diablo Corsa's - so sticky they're brilliant
and now got some MeZ4's to try out, all them since January this year, I suppose I've got to expect it living in the middle of a Race track  tho its bloody expensive, supppose now its off the road they'll last a little longer now :)

I will be doing the occasional track day but mostly I will be exploring the back roads. I would rather have sticky than durable I think. Road Attacks seem to be the consensus. Also, I am not knee dragging through every corner because my IQ is larger than my shoe size so unless I am at the track I still have about 1/4 inch of chicken scratch on either side. Although I want the extra lean (aggresive profile) if I hit a corner hot or track it. Hmm...what to do what to do?
