I tried setting the rear “preload” on the rear shock of my brand new 800xca. The manual suggests that you can make many turns on that hex bolt in the center of the dial. On my bike that hex bolt only turns 3/4 turn between full clockwise to counter- clockwise.
Am I missing something here? The preload isn’t even affected in 3/4’s of a turn... The hex bolt is not stripped, and turns freely between each direction...

Yes I’m turning the allan head bolt. It’s a definite stop from full CW to CCW. Does it take a bit of force to move? I’m afraid to turn to hard for fear of stripping .

There's a good half turn of just dead zone where the adjuster turns easily. After that it gets a little harder to turn. I use the proper size bit and a long 3/8" extension with a T handle to adjust mine.
