Hey fellas,
I found a good deal on a set of thruxton wheels and I was wondering if they'd fit on my scrambler without a major headache. I know the discs are different sizes but I think mty scram one'll bolt up - or am I wrong about that. Seems like a cost effective way to get alloy rims.
thanks in advance,
jimmy

Don't forget that the frt wheel is smaller diameter so you'd need a new tire.

You also need the speedo piece in the hub so that your speedometer is correct (or as close to it as we get).

Sounds like a good mod. I think if I found some wheels, I'd try it, too.

front mudguard

jimmy,

Like Joe said, you need to get a Thruxton speedo drive (speedo drive I bought new, cost me £95 )
but you'll need to do something about the front mudguard too.

The Scrambler forks have the mudguard lugs cast 1/2" higher up the sliders than the Thruxton, which leaves a big gap with the smaller wheel. I put mine underneath the fork brace, but you might want something tidier yourself.

ps. while I'm at it, which colour do you prefer guys?

Both colors look great Johnyc, 4 me I'd opt for the green.

On the subject of wheels for the Scrambler, I am toying with the idea of putting a set of road tyres on the standard wheels and getting some stronger after market wheels for trips off the pavement.

Anyone had any experience or can recommend a brand of wheel for off road use?
