Thruxton's advertised seat height is actually lower than the regular Bonnie. Given that the Thruxton has taller shocks in the back, the lower seat height is as a result of a lower saddle. In addition to being lower where the pilot sits, it's narrower toward the gas tank as well.... for the sport rider can tuck his/her legs in more.

I've always wanted to put a Thruxton seat on my Bonnie and enjoy the benifits my 24" inseam would be afforded. It's also being claimed that the "68" line of seats are somehow more comfortable than the factory saddles. So if a guy were to spend the bucks, spend it toward the '68' Thruxton seat & seat cowl......

here's another $0.02 of mine, I have the stock seat, which has about 15,000 miles of my ass worn into it.

I got a barely used Thruxton seat and it sat higher than my well-worn stock seat.

I found the stock seat to be more comfortable on long rides, but that may be because it's well-worn, broken in, or I'm just used to it and/or crazy.

I like the Thruxton seat around town, but I eventually sold it just cause.

I have a sportster seat I got off Ebay for $50 bucks and one day I'll make it fit, it's a really close fit stock, and just as comfy if not more than the Thrux seat, and just as good looking.

My 36'' inseam doesn't want a lower saddle... It's some serious piece of information you're giving me here. How about the NH solo seat? Is it lowering the seat height as well?

When reading Pat`s statement, take into account that the Thrux shocks are an inch or more longer than the Bonnie, thus making a Thrux seat on a Bonnie 1/2" lower than the stock Bonnie seat.

Oh yeah that's right. How about the 18'' front wheel v the 19''... What influence on the seat height?

The impact is minimal.I have an 18" front wheel on my bike and the difference was barely noticable. i have my forks nearly an inch up through the trees to get the steering feel I like. I`m using stock Bonnie rear shocks. When I put on my Speedmaster shocks, the bike is as low as I like it to be,but the way I ride sometimes suffers for it. I`ve also had a couple Thrux seats,a stocker,a few K&Qs, a couple solo`s and a half dozen custom and Harley seats,Corbins,Honda and a Kawasaki seat.Besides the customs, the Thruxton seats offer the most perception of a "lower" seat. The combination of slightly thinner foam [trust me,I`ve SEEN the foam in every seat I`ve had] and the narrow nose, make it seem lower. The only negative involved with the Thrux seats I`ve had was the gel.Hot in the summer, and hard in the winter. Its NOT a selling point IMO.
