I just put a set of Rosso Corsa II's on my thruxton R. Haven't gotten to push them much yet (cold and rainy) so I can't give much feedback, but will definitely have more info by spring.

FWIW, I went through two rears in 11K miles, and went ahead and changed the front even though it still had some tread left so that I would be on the same generation of rosso corsa on the front and rear. As a result I also have an extra brand new 1st generation rosso corso that I can make someone a good deal on (local preferred!).

Since the shop was slow this time of year, I got them to remove my old tires and give me the wheels to take home so I could do the 3M tape tubeless conversion and brought the wheels back to have the tires mounted. The best thing about the conversion so far is I was able to install speed triple right angle valve stems that make checking pressure and adding air much easier than my usual battle with the brake rotor. Also holding pressure well so far... Need to remember to add a patch set to my tool kit.
Any rubbing issues with the newer Rosso Corsa II?

I ended up replacing mine for Diablo rosso corsa 2's and broke them in on the track. It was raining for half of the day and sunny the second half with a good breeze. The group d was still cold at the end of the day and ambient temp was about 52 degrees Fahrenheit. With that said my tires didn't get that hot to the touch so I'd say I got then up to maybe 100 degrees. The grip wasn't bad, I had the traction control going off on long sweeping corners with full throttle. My chain did start to rub the tire a tiny bit with the loads. May put a pic up later. That's all I can say at the moment until it gets warmer out.

Good to know, thanks for the feedback.

After some quick research, it looks like most vendors are only carrying the front 120 Diablo Rosso Corsa (OEM), and the 160s are impossible to find. Anyone else want to chime in? I'm assuming the new Corsa II is the direct replacement for what came on the R from the factory.

I just did the same thing and found I really liked the tires, but the chain has eaten about 3mm off the edge. What did you end up doing about it? I'm going to email Dunlop and see if I cant get some kind of money back.

BOLLOCK 82,not sure who your question was directed at,but as far as I can see,I am the only one who also bought Dunlops,so I assume it was me.
I figured that the tyre has quite a bit of rubber at that particular point,and inspected it closely to ensure that there was no metal or canvas poking through.Then I put the bike on the paddock stand,put it in first gear,let the tyre spin,and attacked the edge with a rasp to make a bit more clearance.For good measure,and to try to balance the wheel,I then attacked the other side of the tyre.
Not long after,I was getting the bike serviced,and I pointed out to the service manager that they should not be selling these particular tyres for the Thruxton,and asked his opinion of my engineering feats.He said it was all good,and agreed with me that there is a lot of rubber at that point,and proceeded to show me a bike in the workshop that had been towing a trailer.The weight of the trailer had caused the triangular part of the trailer that fixes to the tow-ball to flex and scrape against the tyre,and had scraped much more rubber than my effort,and still no steel/canvas.
I have added probably another 4000 to 5000 kms,just keep a good eye on my tyre pressure,no issues at all.I am just about due for more tyres,certainly wont be going for the Dunlops again.

A little update on the corsa 2's. The rear tire seams to wear a little more that the front but I do more hard acceleration that hard braking in the street. I've ridden very aggressively and got the tires nice and hot. The chain didn't touch the tire, so for me tire to chain contact has only happened on the track and it wasn't all that bad. Maybe .5mm if that. I'd say these tires are safe for street and track use.

Just a belated 2 cents .. The Metzeler Racetec RR's K3 ( hardest) work very well on my TFC . I've typically run Michelin Pilot's , but have run Avon , Metzeler, and Dunlops on other sport bikes The RR's drop into a corner very easily and hold like Velcro, I don't think I'd like them much in the rain we have around here , but don't mind dodging a few drops
