Hi all, Just remove my mikuni carbs on my 97 t'bird only to find a clip sitting ontop of the engine. According to the manual some bikes have a clip securing the throttle cable adusters at the carb end . Does anyone know how it fits as I have not seen it in position. As usual the manual talks about it but does not show you it.

Thanks Gary

It sort of clips over the two nuts (and threaded carb bit in between) & I believe it's there to prevent the nuts loosening. I ran a Mikuni set without it when I broke it on removal one time.

On the Keihins, it keeps the adjuster nuts from loosening, and it is a major pain to install correctly. After going through it twice, I took Mike's great advice, and always disconnect the cable at the grip end now rather than mess with it. If I had to remove that end again, I think I would come up with some easier solution to keep the nuts from working loose.
