The front calipers are off and I'm painting 'em black and getting rid of the red rim stripes, which should please the older more conservative members of the speedy family.

One thing I did notice is under the bleed nipple bust cover there was a wet residue of brake fluid. I thought I noticed it last time so I made sure they were clean and dry when it went back together. Once I started bleeding the usual gallon of air was in the lines. A bleed nipple not seating right can't help the air issue. Guess I'll use some Teflon tape on them this time. :)

Chucking the nipple in a drill and polishing the tip would help the seating.
Teflon tape on the twead wont pervert air from entering, but would surely pervent fluid escaping and air entering (between nipple thread and caliper body) when bleeding the bu$$ers.
Anyhow it costs zilch and doesn't harm anything.

Yes, this is why I had the teflon tape on the nipples too. To prevent the pervert air from entering the caliper cavity while bleeding.

But seriously. It must work, as I never had any problems with air in the brakes and bleeding has been a quick job (the one and only time I had to do it while changing master cylinder).
