Very nice. Hoping to maybe weld up my own custom headers and mid-pipe this winter.

Mine are in the box... still!!!

I have to wait a few weeks untill I get a pin out of my hand from a lowside before I can install and ride.

I am taking a few liberties and dressing down the welds on the mid-pipe to get ready for paint.

I would tend to agree. It violates some of the principles of good flow. Tight bends are bad news HP wise, however I bet they flow quite a bit better than stock.

But I don't care. I'm buying a set anyway.

no way...
the bend is not restrictive at all. the mid pipe is a lot larger in diameter than the stock.
the bike breaths perfectly well.
and for comparison, the chain reaction pipes look way better.
and even better if you have a tail tidey as seen on karma's.
