I read today that on rigid frame bikes that the rubber pads on the gas tank were there to grip with your knees. If the ride got rough (no rear suspension) then the pads helped to keep a grip on the machine. Is this true?
And if it is then why does the T100 still have them?Is it part of the retro thing or just to keep the tank from getting scratched? :???:

i think that knee pads are still a boon on bumpy roads.classic twin shocks are not perfect as you know!!not toscratch the paint is a bonus added...look at the "balls" pads on modern superbikes :razz: :razz: :razz: :hammer: :hammer:
