Can anyone recommend a product like Stomp Grips that'll fit the 2005 S3's tank sides. I want to feel more comfortable hanging off (no slipping).

Give the Gripster tank pads a look, I have them on my Daytona and they work wonders, I've never felt like my S3 had any issues whatever gripwise so I dont have them on my triple, you will likely have to focus on the general sheet that you will have to cut yourself as I dont believe they have a specific set for the speed triple. Again, they are fantastic on my daytona and fixes that bikes problem utterly..

The Gripster pads are nice, easy to cut out, and contour to the sides of the tank really well. BUT, don't spill any fuel near them because they easily delaminate from their backing and end up looking like *****. On the plus side, they aren't killer on the insides of your thighs and knees like the Stomp Pads are. However, the Stomp Pads seem to hold up to abuse better.

If I had to choose, I'd go with the Gripster pads because they're lower profile, don't kill your legs in jeans, don't look like shower mats (where are the black Stomp Pads I saw in a magazine?!?), and if they get crappy they're easy enough to replace.

I kept on sliding forward on my '99, but didn't want anything in clear plastic.

Mine is the third in the pic and if you look, you'll see Thunderbird Sport tank pads, genuine from Triumph and they stick right on. Even though the contours are slightly different than the Speedy tank, IMO they don't look out of place and they work a treat!

I just installed a set of Stomp Grip tank pads on my '06, using Honda CBR F4i application pads (trimmed slightly at top). although the pad doesn't fill the entire recessed area of the tank, it plenty covers the areas where my legs are.

I originally got them after having problems with too much pressure being put on the handle bars during hard braking, leading to head shake. Hopefully this will help! I also looked in to the gripster pads mentioned below, but decided against them since I didn't think black pads on a white tank would go well.

$2.50 + per gallon! I live in Massachusetts and it's over 4 for regular and > $5 for high octane.

On topic, I had a bonnie with the Triumph rubber tank pads. They worked great. I may get some for the s3. I made the mistake of putting lots of wax on the tank....... Makes for an exciting ride. Don't stop fast or you will crush the family on the fuel tank!

Have fun, ride safe.
