Guys,

What's the scoop on exhaust for the Bonnie Special? Original 2-into1 is going to cost me $600!!! ($499 exhaust, $99 for exhaust nuts, $19 for sealing rings)

When I got my bike, someone else had put on a 2-into-2 exhaust system with spigots instead of the exhaust nuts the T140D should have.

Easiest thing to do would be to buy a 2-into-1 system for the 650's or later 750's with spigots for $250. Looks would be similar so my question is, is there anything wrong with that? I know it wouldn't be stock, but is this option a major foul?

I second KADUTZ' remarks.

I have an aftermarket muffler on one of my "D" models, it's nearly identical to the original. Don't know (and don't care) why the original owner swapped it out.

I think there are some very good quality reproduction pipes available for less than the price you posted...

That's kinda what I figured, just wanted to make sure it wasn't some sort of rookie mistake. Thanks for the advice. I'll be getting a shiny new MAC exhaust system! And I won't go broke doing it.

MAC has been making headers since the days Triumph (Meriden) dealers were still around, if I recall correctly. I've got one on my '80 KZ1000, and it's nice.
