Can anybody confirm what the distance between the rear forks on the swingarm should be on a t120r 1966 vintage ?
In the manual it says 7 1/2" but I measure mine at7 3/4" which wouldn't be such an issue except my newly built rear wheel is about 1/8" wider :)

Before I try to press the forks apart I wanted to check if the wheel is too wide, or do the fork widths vary ? Thanks

7-3/4" is right for '66-'70.
Pre-'66 was 7-1/2" and no speedo drive on the rear wheel.
Something's not right at the wheel.Check that the bearings are fully seated. The drive side bearing is screwed in hard by the retainer ring;the timing side bearing is then pushed in until it touches the spacer tube and can't go any further.

Thanks Mr Pete. Its a '66 so the 7 3/4" matches my measurement. I used new sealed bearings but will go back and check that everything is as tight as possible. If I need to prise the forks apart a little any suggestions on a safe way to do this ?
