I have just acquired an 05 ST, very nice bike, do miss the speed of my 05 FZ1 but all in all a nicer all around bike. Getting to the point; I am a heavier person ( 240lbs) so I would like to do some adjustments to the ST 's suspension to accommodate the load. If any one has suggestions with the stock stuff and what could be done w/ fairly inexpensive after market items I would appreciate it.

Did you get the owner's manual with the bike?

It'll give you pointers on settings.

Bear in mind that the Sprint, like most bikes, is woefully undersprung. At 240, you'll be best off getting an aftermarket spring from Racetech, Works or Progressive Suspension. Or someone else.

The shock is really average. However, I can put up with "average" when the aftermarket fix is $600 to over a grand.

Good Luck, and enjoy your bike!

I'm about that weight and the main thing I've done is whack the front preload almost up to max (i.e. about 3 lines from max). I've increased rear compression and rebound a fair bit (can't remember the amount off hand) and also increased the preload. I'd say to tune the bike as if it was to carry 2up all the time :)
