Just got back from my "local" Triumph dealership but nobody told me they were a Triumph, BMW and Ducati dealer! One could spend hours there....easily. Unfortunatley they didn't have a Bonneville Black on the floor but wow did they have some gorgeous bikes. All of them!

Even though I feel cramped on a sportbike, I have to say that the best looking bike by far had to be the Ducati. What ya'll think?

Pretty impressive, I'd still rather have another Thruxton.

About the dealership though, I've always thought that would be a perfect combination to have, Triumph, Ducati, BMW and KTM for dirt bikes. You could call it MotoEuropa or something along those lines. With BMW as your bread and butter line the other three would be icing on the cake, you could have a espresso stand, a big screen for IOM and MotoGP, BSB and even WRC race's, you could take a tip from Harley and have Spaghetti night, Kraut n sausage night, Fish and Chip night..make it a destination and a place for European motorcycle fans to hang out, it'd be brilliant.

I have seen these bikes at the dealer and the quality and fit/finish is very nice. Some styling details on it such as the very high almost hidden rear fender, tiny little front fender, humongous gas tank and the shape of the seat are not my cup of tea, but they are well made bikes that do have a distinctive look. I've read that the V twin does vibrate a fair amount as well, but the power output is quite high. All things considered I like my Triumph for a traditionally classic looking and sounding retro machine with a bank vault solid feeling to it (definitely no rattles or vibrations). For the motorcycle rider that wants more performance, likes the bike's unique styling and can live the vibrations of the motor, then the Ducati is a good choice.

Beautiful bike , would'nt mind havin one but the mags, cant remember if it was cycle world or motorcyclist, did'nt have flattering things to say about the handling of either the sport 1000 or the thruxton when they did a side by side. test.

If i was goin Ducati it would be an S4RS or the new bad boy 1098.

I'd like one of these...

with due recognition to the vintagebike forum where I nicked the picture from.

An engine on wheels with a chassis to hold it together, brakes to stop it and lights for legality. A 'pure' motor-cycle.

I really like 'em but I got a couple of problems with them.
(For 1,000$ more you can get a Monster2 with much better components.)

The seat to bar distance is perfect for me, however the seat to peg distance is a little short
On the Monster it is the exact opposite.
So what to? :???:
buy one of each?

The fit and finish on the ones that I've seen is just about perfect.
I do think that the swing arm tube is a little clunky looking and if I had my druthers I would prefer either a 2into1 or a can on each side.
I like the pumpkin but the red with black cans is to die for.

My wife saw one and fell instantly in love. A month later she had it. Here is a pic of our bikes. We did a fender elimination on the Duc and put Staintune pipes on it. Sounds awesome.

Unfortunately the snow came in and she has only put about 90 miles on it.

I agree they are very pretty but to be honest I'd rather have my 955 and a real old bike. Which is why I have. I have to say though after a few years when the novelty of dodging tickets has worn off I might be tempted.

Dave for many years that was my all time favourite motorcycle!
