I've got play in my cush drive, don't know how normal this is. If I grab the cush drive I can move it from side to side quite a bit.

Its that black dome on the sprocket side of the rear hub, it absorbs some forward motion so its not so jerky.

Not sure about how much play is within spec, but after only a year, you shouldn't be having issues yet.

A little play is normal even on a brand new bike. Most bikes I've owned have had a very small amount of play. If they didn't have some, it would be hard to disassemble them because the rubber would be wedged into the hub to tightly.

I've just checked mine Limey and there does seem to be a lot of side to side play. Never noticed it before, rides perfect so maybe thats the way they are. I'm sure other bikes I've owned didn't have the amount of movement this does though. I took one out af a Fireblade and it was tight to get back in??

I quickly went to check. The bike was in neutral on the stand. No play at all in the cush drive but it may have been under a slight load. I can't see how something designed to reduce driveline lash should have any play.

Okay, I wiggled mine too, then my wife walked in and caught me, very embarrassing.

All seriousness aside, mine had just an ever so slight amount of play in it....the cush drive that is.
