I got my new pipe this week and put it on ,looks terriffic great work manship, took the bike for a ride this morning about 34f outside, the bike has nice throaty idle now, but seems quieter at speed,it runs smoother not so many back fires.I have`nt taken the baffle out yet. I think i`ll add a k&n filter and a TOR map first.
I guess I`m a little disappointed, but I`ll wait and see.

I contacted "STAINTUNE" directly via an email...here's their reply...

Goodday John
Thanks for the enquiry and the praise, we were planning on making an underseat muffler for your bike model at the beginning of this year but found we could not mass produce a muffler that looked good as well as performed well in that underseat position, it would of meant a complete factory retooling which we were not up to.
However, next year(2007)we are looking at revisiting this product again.

note that the above was referring to my 2006 (2005/2006/2007)... sounds like we may be having some new STA parts to choose from the StainTune Manufacturing Company in '07.. Kewl.!!

What you haven t taken the baffle out?Thats the first thing you should do,it makes a glorious sound then.Luckily it only takes 30 seconds to put it back in for th 3am starts I do occasionaly.I dont think the neighbors enjoy the sound quite as much as me at that time of the morning.

Yes, you`ll only get a 1-2hp increase just by bolting it on, barely noticeable but it iS road legal like that. Download the TORS tune and pull the baffle out and you`ll be grinning from ear to ear. Also, if you have air injection, Some 955 models do some don`t, get the dealer to block it off.

This`ll tell you a bit more about it.

Secondary Air Injection

Amanager,welshrob
thanks for the input, our dealer will be closed from the 23rd to the new year, so I don`t have the opportunity to have it remapped before that,I am looking forward to it tho. theres
no air injection on my bike so I`m lucky that way.

PS-welshrob ,I've been following your reviews of your new S3(congrats) wife says I can have another bike too,so new S3 is on the test ride list for Me :)

Yep welshrob is right, you will need the Triumph Off Road remap.Dont be tempted to put a aftermarket air-filter in too or you will end up with a heap of farting and back firing, which can only be fixed with a expsensive Power Commander system I believe.
Any one else had problems with this?
