Hi all - I'm looking for brake advice. I was up in the Rockies a couple weeks ago and the front brake lever got really soft to where it hit my knuckles on the fingers on the grip. I was in high elevation (+10k ft) and it was around 100deg. The same thing happened the year before when I was riding Beartooth Pass out of Yellowstone, which is also at high elevation. Both times I had a bike shop bleed the brake and some firmness returned. But the lever was still mushy. The lever occasionally will feel very firm like is supposed to. I have new EBC pads, and the correct amount of fluid.

I suspect this could be a master cylinder failure. But I wonder if air is getting in the system somewhere due to elevation.

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
