I finally split the cases on the motor I screwed 2 years ago, and there it was. The passenger outside rod bearing had spun. Luckily, I didn't drive on it but a 1/4 mile with the knock, and the damage to the crank appears to just be in need of a slight polish. I'm guessing the rod and piston are fragged from the vibrations, but do you think the crank is still usable? I didn't go over 4k on the motor after the noise, and it wasn't extremely loud.

Sooooo also, if anyone needs motor parts, I'm posting them up in the classifieds! haha

Also, just so you know, the reason I'm convinced is that I used a crummy oil filter. I got talked into using an off brand by a friend, and within 150 miles the bike was dead. I won't mention the friend or Fram's company name like that.

K and N or OEM from now on till the day I die!
