A quick question is a good question:

Does anyone know (for sure) the OEM rear spring rate on the 1050 Sprint ST?

Chris,

Assuming the 1050 is set up the same as the 955, I'm going to say it is approximately 750lb/in.

A buddy and I swapped ours out for some Ohlin's 1100lb/in springs, which made a huge difference in the handling and feel of the bike. Stock shock, just different spring.

Our motivation, other than being cheap, was to compensate for my big butt, his two-up riding, and both of us hauling loaded bags.

I used to have a thread somewhere on this site that described the swap, and how the shock works.

This isn't it, but good info: http://www.triumphrat.net/sprint-forum/22177-shock-spring-s-ideal-weight.html
