When I got my 08 America I commented to the dealer that the gears seemed sticky. I had to hit them pretty hard to get it to shift. And they said "Triumphs have a long break in period for the gearbox. Usually 3000 miles." So if you have low miles on it, maybe, hopefully, it's just a breaking in issue.
