I've had my tach and speedo rebuilt. The tach is now rock solid but the speedo still jiggles just slightly, but at least can now tell how fast I'm going. Just wondering if some jiggle is considered normal and if lubing or replacing the speedo cable might help. If I lube the cable, is the procedure to pull it out and lube almost to the top...and what is the best lube?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, pull out the cables and lube them, after you check them to be sure that they're in good shape. I've used white lithium grease for years and it's worked just fine. Don't lube the last 2 inches or so below the instruments, just in case it might "climb" up into them.

Hope that it cures your "Jiggle" (it worked on mine): Jim

I use some 'cable lube' purpose made stuff...forget the brand, but its available at any moto shop. And I use a little lubing jig that shoots the lube down the jacket on the throttle and clutch .On the speedo and tach ,I just pull the cable out of the jacket and blast away..
