hey guys this is my first post so take it easy on me!

1977 T140
Im building a cafe' racer and dont need the speedo drive, but it looks like it also acts as a grease seal too. Are there other models with the same hub and no speedo drive that might use a grease seal, or any ideas?
I would just leave it on but its in bad condition.

it also acts as a spacer.

I imagine that if you're making a cafe racer then you have an ability to get spacers made.
I'd guess that something suitable could be turned up.

the later wheel bearings come with grease seals anyway.

I agree with Dave. Put sealed bearings in the wheel and have somebody turn a nice sexy spacer to replace the speedo drive.

Assume you are using an electronic speedo on your bike. If you are planning on no speedo, check your local laws. in NY, bike will not pass inspection without a working speedo. Never had one checked for functionality, but it has to at least be there.

Rob
