Hello all. I see that the gap for the 1050 ST is 0.7mm. I have just purchased a set of NGK CR9EIX irridiums for the bike and was wondering if the gap for these should be the same as the stockers?

I know its a silly question, but just curious. :hammer:

Not so silly a question. You probably already checked the NGK sites and they can mess one up.

The NGK France site does not even list the CR9EIX plug as available for the 1050 engine, and while it does for the 955 it is set at 0,9mm as per the spec for the normal plug DPR9EA.

The NGK USA site does not even seem to go beyond 2004 models?

However if you follow this link Spark plugs UK ,they do show the CR9EIX plug along with the standard plug for the 1050 engines and 0,7mm as the recommended gap for both in that application. My best guess would also be to set it to the same gap as specified in manual for the original plug.

CM --- Thanks!! You have found the same problems I have found regarding specific info.

Thanks for your research though. I figured it must be the same gap, but, never hurts to double check before putting her back together and thumbing the noise button! :-D

Same gap and it runs great with them. I am now finishing up a dyno tune, hopefully will be done Monday. Do get rid of the OEM air filter too, it's restrictive as the San Fran city council.
